This discussion is in desperate need of an Iridium supporter. That would be me. Don't ever make the mistake of underestimating anything that Motorola is heavily involved in. First of all their newest foray into satellite communications is focused on the transmittal of business information while Iridium's strength is voice communications. Second, Motorola did not just double their guarantee of bank credit for Iridium to $1.1B just to let it die on the vine. Finally, don't forget the lessons of Beta Max vs. VHS in the video recording field and Apple vs. Microsoft with computers. In both cases the best marketing won out not the best system (for those of you who believe Globalstar to be superior. I must admit, however, that you have interested me in Globalstar. Could someone answer a couple of questions? Since Globalstar is tying into land based cellular lines will there be an additional charge added to the $.45/min. for their use? Also, Maurice's use of $2B bottom line was very generous. However, I am at a loss for any companies turning 67% net profit. Even Intel is excited about a mere 60% Gross Profit. Personally, I think that both will be big winners in any case because of the huge demand. Larry
