I see... did you pay your $12.95, plus shipping and handling to obtain this one person's 60 minute opinion?

Yes.. I understand that he was once Chairman of the Joint Chiefs..., and I believe he also is a director of Newsmax.com...

But I wonder why does he have more prescience than any of the other individuals who have long been predicting a conflict with China "within years"?

Of course China wants us out of the Pacific Rim area... But they hardly possess the means to accomplish such a feat. And the more agressive they become, the more Japan and other nations will ally with US interests and seek to alienate China.

It's tough to figure out their game plan though... And that's why I question how this guy, no matter how smart, can predict a war.

Btw, the Panama Canal is indefensible. Knock out one lock and the entire thing grinds to a halt. I was involved in a military defense exercise, Fuertes Defensas, a couple of years back and that was the general consensus of everyone involved.

As for the Chinese involvement in the Bahamas, as well in Panama, the last I heard, Hutchison Whampoa #3 officer is English, as are many of their overseas operations.... Now does that sound like a company involved in a Chinese conspiracy bent upon being the pawns of a communist goverment?

Li Ka Shing is a businessman, who would probably not be willing to permit the communists to use his company as some kind of front for their foreign policy unless he fits his interests.

I'm not naive about Li's past and the controversy surrounding him... I just assume he helps out Bejing to the extent that it benefits him and his interests. And having Caucasian directors for H-P, as well as other key positions filled by non-Chinese, tells me that this isn't as secret or conspiratorial as you would claim.

Certainly no more than a US corporation operating in China or its periphery....
