Ish, I admire you for volunteering to serve, but aren't you painting with far too broad a brush? Do you include Cheney, Gingrich, Quayle, George Will, Buchanan, Rush, DeLay, Lott, Gramm, Armey, Jack Kemp, Bill Bennett, Ken Starr and Pat Robertson among that group of draft avoiders?
And how do you explain the fact that Sen. Kerry, Sen. Kerrey, Sen. Cleland, and Al Gore served in Vietnam, and that Gephardt, Bonior and Senators Daschle, Dodd, Hollings, Jack Reed and Harkin all served in uniform? |
