"safe mode" in ME

Restart your computer, press and hold down the CTRL key after your computer completes the Power On Self Test (POST)(you'll hear a couple of beeps...press Ctrl as soon as you hear them), and then choose Safe Mode (using arrow keys to navigate) from the Startup menu. Try running windows scandisk from there. If you try using Norton disk doctor in safe mode, you will get a warning. You can boot to dos in me but doing that is a different story.
