Sitestar Continues DSL Expansion With Rollout of Service in Roanoke ENCINO, Calif., Apr 9, 2001 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Sitestar Corp. (OTCBB: SYTE chart, msgs), celebrated the rollout of high-speed DSL Internet service in Roanoke, Va., by wholly owned subsidiary Sitestar.net Inc., continuing a trend toward internal growth.
"Sitestar now offers high-speed Internet service in both its Martinsville and Roanoke markets and is actively pursuing high-speed solutions throughout its geographic footprint," said Clinton J. Sallee, Sitestar Corp.'s president and CEO.
"In the last quarter, our Martinsville operation posted a 35% growth rate in high-speed Internet subscribers," Sallee said. "Tapping into the lucrative, fast growing market for this service in our other core markets, is a logical next step for us.
"Based on our management team's knowledge and our experience with the growth potential of this segment, we have every reason to be optimistic it will provide a significant and sustained future revenue," added Sallee.
DSL demand is high, especially in the rural areas Sitestar serves. The company recently presented at the FastTrack 2001 Tradeshow and Technology Summit in Martinsville, Va.
"The reception to our DSL offering was overwhelming," Sallee said. "As our capability in this technological frontier expands, we expect DSL to be our sales leader, generating installation and recurring revenues we can build on.
"That is not to belittle the sales potential of dial-up Internet service, whose technology continues to improve. Conventional ISP service is very much alive and selling well," Sallee said. "That's how we got here.
"Sitestar plans long-term organic growth within our markets both in dial-up access and high speed, as well as in new markets and new mediums to deliver Internet access solutions," added Sallee.
Sitestar Corp. is a holding company, established by acquiring small ISP companies in underserved rural America, specifically in the mid-Atlantic region of the U.S., and spurred by internal growth within those companies.
Sitestar operates through Sitestar.net Inc. as well as wholly-owned subsidiaries Greattools.com, Holland-American.com, Soccersite.com, and through Qliq-On Corp, in which Sitestar holds a minority equity interest.
