"no matter what they do, it will be the wrong thing to do" Heinz: Do you see a possible way out of this fix ?

Right now, it seems that the Houses are doing their best to portray an upbeat attitude and lift very select securities/trading vehicles even though there is no genuine impetus to buy the broader market.

I'm really quite perplexed that we haven't seen a definite inflationary effect of rising fuel and heating/electricity costs in the prices of goods/services. Who's absorbing these costs ? FEDEX, Post Offc, UPS have been raising rates and still loosing money but not enough to say they are taking the brunt of it.

Who's really taking the hit here?
