Rumors are out there for a variety of reasons. Sometimes, they are actually true! Other times, of course people have their reasons for starting them. Sometimes those reaons are less than noble.

There's the perennnial "Greenspan was rushed to the hospital" rumor. "The Presidnet has been shot" rumor, etc.

When a rumor is out there and it moves the market, then we report it. That there is a rumor moving the market IS news.

Trying to track down the source is another story. Our reporters do their best, but it is usually impossible to find the source.

Still, KNOWING that a rumor is moving the market or some stock is better than NOT knowing why.
