I am not sure if I understand above statement! The reason stocks have come down so much is because there have been more sellers than buyers! If you look at the Nasdaq short interest you notice it is at its highest (ever)!

It is simple market dynamics. Similar to when things were going good people were buying on margins, now that things have been bad people have been selling on margins! Short sellers are the major factors of market's recent downturn.

The good news (for longs) is that they will be the catalyst for stocks to go up so dramatically in a blink of an eye! And if you do not believe me just take a look at the semi stocks for the past 3 days (e.g. ALTR, XLNX, INTC, LSI, etc.).
