KEY WEST PALLADIUM-PLATINUM-NICKEL-COPPER PROJECT OPTIONEDConquistador Mines Ltd. is pleased to announce that it has entered into an agreement in principle with Consolidated Epix Technologies Ltd. to grant it an option to earn a 50% interest in its Key West Project in Clark County, Nevada. This project includes the Key West Mine and Great Eastern Mine properties as well as 198 claims staked by Conquistador. In order to earn its 50% interest, Consolidated Epix Technologies will pay US50,000 for property payments paid by Conquistador during the month of February and an additional US$100,000 to cover some of the previous land costs incurred by Conquistador. Consolidated Epix will also advance US$25,000 to start the exploration program, and will fund a minimum additional exploration program of US$500,000 prior to March 15, 2002. Upon earning its 50% interest, Consolidated Epix Technologies and Conquistador will enter into a joint venture agreement on these properties, and the surrounding area of interest. Conquistador will be the operator of the exploration program until such time as Consolidated Epix has earned its 50% and has entered into a joint venture agreement with Conquistador Mines Ltd. In Negotiations Regarding Joint Venture of its Platinum-Palladium Properties
Conquistador Mines Ltd. reports that it is in discussions regarding the grant of an option and formation of joint venture on its platinum-palladium properties located in Nevada. The company holds an option to acquire a 100% interest in the claims comprising the properties, subject to royalty interests. A news release will be issued if the negotiations lead to an agreement.
