you mention violence against women. That is an issue that can and should concern anyone who cares about women. Some choice to make it a focus. It is a woman's issue, in that it is of women. That does not mean that anyone can't make it their focus.

The end of my post, and the beginning of it, make the whole point. We are all better off when we are all better off.

If some women choice to work among a group of themselves on issues that concern them, so what?

there are avenues for men to work on the issue of violence against women, to work on the proliferation of date-rape drugs and their use, etc.

since your daughters are in college, I would think the latter would be on your radar. It is a sad occurance. I have two nieces reaching the age when it saddens me that such things should need to discussed. But they must.

You misunderstand when I speak of issues important to particular people because they are the one's directly affected. You are indirectly affected by something like date-rape. Not to take away from how much it would hurt you, or how much you care... but it's not you or your son that is in danger.

The discussion of working separate from others towards a common goal is an old one. but if someone prefers to work separately, so be it. What's it to me? Or you?
