John, Art, Here is a link to an article talking about JJ's call at the time it happened. He was called premature, insane, ridiculous by other analysts (including a few on this board, including too, unhappily, yours truly).

It was a gutsy call. Whether it was coincidentally correct or not, I can't say. I certainly hope his current call is as good as that one was. Though I wish he would have included SST in his raised ratings. But perhaps the fact that they report tomorrow would make him shy away from recommending them. Nothing like recommending a company only to be slapped in the face the next day by reality. Still, with the 4Mb chip ASPs holding steady, it is slightly encouraging (thanks, John, for the link to JJ on chip prices).
As usual, we'll have to wait and see. Balzac supposedly said that when he was younger, he didn't commit suicide once because the political situation was so interesting in France and Europe at the time, and he wanted to see how things turned out. The market can be amusing like that as well.
