Ron Powell admitted hitting his boss Alan Bennett at Varian, albeit ever so gently, when he was deposed today in the Varian (VAR & VSEA), Susan B. Felch and George Zdasiuk SLAPP. It was somewhat disheartening to hear Mr. Powell try and dismiss this incident as anything less than offensive and non-professional. For some of us, adults hitting each other is wrong, even if no one was physically harmed as Mr. Powell alleged. Moreover, it is just one more story, one more episode in Varian's legendary hostile work environment.
