Well, it worked, so i guess i shouldn't be concerned.

Can't argue with results. Another thing you have accomplished is that I am now totally confused (which by the way is a common state) . I have very little experience with winme but with 98 you know when you have booted into the graphically challenged "safe mode". Here is my version of the desktop in safe mode.

Dos is a black screen with white letters. Once there you have to manually enter commands with your keyboard to navigate.
