BlueSkyFrog partners with AdSociety

AdSociety, the pan-Asian broadband advertising, marketing and sales network JV majority-owned by Hong Kong telco PCCW, has won network exclusive advertising sales rights to represent Australian mobile Internet portal BlueSkyFrog.

Under the agreement, both companies will work together to introduce and deliver innovative wireless advertising solutions to opted-in mobile users in the Australian market.

AdSociety will offer advertisers in Australia and across the region a host of interactive marketing and advertising cross platform formats, including banners, pop-ups, SMS, and email, that can be served to target audiences that have consented to receive information.

"With mobile penetration at over 50% of the Australian market, there are more mobile phones are being used during the day than radios and TV combined," said BlueSkyFrog GM Elena Pasquini. "That's a pretty exciting opportunity for advertisers."

BlueSkyFrog, which specializes in mobile Web content access via SMS and WAP, has over 1.2 million members, which works out to just over 10% of Australian mobile users

A recent Ovum report predicts that the amount of mobile advertising expenditure in Asia will grow to US$409 million by 2002, compared to US$7 million last year. That number is expected to reach $1.2 billion in 2003, and $4.7 billion in 2005.
