What you say about the value of the friendships and the importance such a thing takes in one's life is very much true for most of us. And that's likely the the root of the problem with the site. "They" (management) aren't part of it, haven't been there, don't get it, and never will. This whole online meeting-place concept has been with us since the term "online" was invented, and it always will be. The company's controlled by people who share the addiction will be the ones to succeed. The ones that got taken over by folks who really don't "get it" will become historical footnotes.
