Here's a link to backup of Outlook2000 stuff. Let us know if your version is different.

support.microsoft.com

With outlook express, do a find/files and folders/ search for *.wab . Right click it and select send to removable disk or whatever drive letter your zip is assigned.
This method may work with your version of outlook as well if you find *.pab. Let ud know.

Bookmarks: in an internet explorer window go to file/import and export/next/choose the function you want (export favs)/make sure the top line (favorites) is selected in blue/next/browse to your zip and name it something that you can remember (I add the date at the end of bookmark)/next/ finish. You can also go to C:\WINDOWS\Favorites and select all within the folder/copy and paste into another folder and just reverse the process when you need to restore.

Desktop: I don't know

How did you do that?

I use a little program called snagit to take a snapshot of my desktop and loaded it on the net on my personal webpage.
