That may be true. But the mp3 *format* is not 'done'. It and it's descendant formats are here to stay. Consumers (especialy young tech aware ones) will never accept proprietary audio compression formats as long as open standards exist, and the programming community will never let the open formats die. And the public in general will not accept complicated watermarking/DRM standards that limit their ability to control their music listening.

If you think anything else, you are mistaken.

MP3.com's future IS dubious... but this was the notion of the article you were agreeing with.
