Buying intel on dips has thus far been a rewarding strategy. I routinely receive flyers from dell and gateway in the mail featuring pentium IIs/MMX now. I've yet to receive anything from dec. If dec thinks its alpha chip is so great, why are they buying amd chips?
and can amd and cyrix really compete with intel? Does anyone really have intels capabilities to continuously advance microprocessor technology and roll out the latest advancements in $1 B manufacturing facilities in ever decreasing cycle times? AMD and cyrix can undercut intel short term, but it leaves them with less cash flow to reinvest in R&D and manufacturing.

By year end intel most of intels sales will be high margin processors with even newer ones to follow.

Buying on the dips.

imo,

Gary
