it is definitely unusual...and who knows, with the speculator short position growing very large again, maybe someone is trying to squeeze them?
what is certain is that this is another piece of evidence pointing to tightness in physical supplies... lease rates seem to have established a new, higher floor. and with t-bill rates temporarily dropping below 4 % recently, the rise in the lease rates becomes even more meaningful.
