Sometimes it takes a while, though. Rambus just missed its numbers (that reflect licensing fees on sales from Q4 of last year) but much more significant, they forecasted a 20% drop in revenues for next quarter - which would be based upon licensee's Q1 sales. Considering that they are getting their first SDRAM/DDR fees from some licensees, and that RDRAM only playstation is ramping fairly well, Q1 sales of RDRAM only P4 must have been quite limited. Even with the expectations of a RDRAM bear, I am surprised that Rambus has been forced into such a forecast.

And since Rambus's next quarter's revenue reflects sales from a period that ended over a month ago, their visibility is very, very good.
