Scary thing is Cisco-ites own alot of very high priced real estate in the valley...it could get very ugly. My last reference to the valley was 1998 when 3 bedroom houses were going for $600k, and a 1 bedroom was $1,500 to rent. Similar to defense cuts in the 90s in LA, housing market caused alot of pain for many homeowners who bought at the highs in the mid 80s.

Considering the average salary at Cisco was $100k plus options, 1 Cisco job is like 3 regular jobs in terms of impact to the economy.
