Actually, I didn't read it all. I don't follow the numbers that close any more. I used to read the SEC filings diligently, etc.... All it got me was several lifetimes of forward capital losses.

You are correct about this. At the risk of sounding a bit bitter and not specific to Amazon, there is so much non truth in the filings for so many companys. I get disallusioned at times because it feels like legalized corruption.

You must have had a very good week in the market. Hopefully everyone with gains on recent buys will lighten up on margin.


The only profit I am currently holding is in a few shares of BRCD I bought earlier today. I owned everything else from the past. Not at their highs by any means but not near their lows either. I sold some bonds today to commit fresh cash when I believe the market has stabalized.

I may not commit any new cash. I have not decided. The consumer spending has really slowed and I am looking at capital needs for my business in the event it slows more. In my market area we three issues. One is a lot of layoffs in the industries that supply heavy manufacturing. Secondly, reduced hours for those not layed. Thirdly, a fear by those still working that they may be layed off. I personally believe we are at the bottoming of the slowing process but I do not get a slip or whatever they do to lay people off so it is easier for me to fell that way.
