I've been contacted privately by an individual who believes further research about SRM is warranted because of the possibility that it is sufficiently different from CRM and ERP to be a distinct product category. Thanks to David Howe in the Siebel thread, we now also have this:

infoconomy.com

I will be trying to follow SRM closely because:

1) If indeed SRM is a distinct product category, I believe it has a reasonable shot at being subsumed by the CRM category. If that happens, the implications relative to my interest in Siebel are obvious. (Remember that I wrongly predicted that SCM would be subsumed by ERP.)

2) Whether or not SRM is a separate product category, it is so closely related to CRM that I hope to apply a lot of what I learned during my last four years of following CRM to the SRM sector.

If anyone finds or stumbles across information about SRM, please share it. Thanks in advance!
