Holy shit! That is one hell of a great severance package. I've never heard anything like it for normal employees. Sure you get great packages for executives, but this is definitely going above and beyond. What a great company Cisco is. No wonder the employees are fiercely loyal. If they get treated like this when they're getting sent out the door, imagine how the one's that get to keep their jobs are treated on a day to day basis. One thing's for sure, Chambers is a man of honor who truly cares about people. This is very good evidence of that. This also confirms my believe that he has been open and forthright with sharholders and the public about their visibility and their internal operations. Anyway, this is a big charge, so it's a negative in the short term for shareholders, but I like knowing that the employees are well taken care of. The happier they are, the more money they can make the company, which translates into long term capital gains for me. Long live Cisco and Chambers!
