Interesting article J. Sounds like Moore's Law and the rapid evolution of human computing power since the introduction of the IC, is starting to put some real "umph" into "cracking the biochemical software code of life." It will be interesting to see how far they can take it. With the article recently about Moore's Law being extended until at least 2010, with 10 GHz chips, it does seem like we may being getting closer to the second half of the chess board. Like the Chinese guy that the emperor agreed to give one grain of rice, for the first square of the chess board, and double it for each square after that, and by the middle of the chess board it would take acres of rice stacked 100 ft high, and the emperor realized where it was heading so he had the guy's head cut off for tricking him; doubling huge amounts of computing power (it has already doubled 20 times since 1970), every 18 months, should start having an even greater impact on the world, especially the world of computer storage networks, that deal with all that doubling data shooting out of those faster processors.
