The downtrodden masses in China (mostly peasant farmers) could care less about the politics of the country. There only concern is their rice crop.

China is not jealous of the U.S. We are barbarians in their eyes, just like the Brits and the rest of the West. They use us when we are useful (economically), and ultimately, if they can, they will shut us out.

Yes, we should absolutely be spying on this crowd, and we should intensify our intelligence gathering and be prepared.

You underestimate how far China has come. Talk to some of the young up and coming capitalists in Guangzhou or Shanghai and they will tell you stories of how difficult it was to travel from province to province within their own country a few years ago. Now they move about freely. They also joke about politicians now, a sure ticket to jail in the past.

The rising capitalist class in China does not give a crap about Communism, they only want to make money and get a better life. The only difference between this group and a similar demographic in the U.S. is that they are better educated and work harder.
