<<There is so much noise that it's difficult to remain calm. >>
Thats the major game of brokers today -paid analysts to stir the pot. I am not a good trader( buy high sell low
don't work) and do not want to be still doing it 2 years from now. (Except if things get absolutely boring)
So am still looking for a buy and hold stock. These are scarce- very scarce.
There were stocks in 1997 that appeared to be outperfoming Dell by a mile - Amat, Adic, Jabil. Sometimes Cpq They all collapsed on me.
50 years ago I learned my first investing lesson- do not sell the gainers as you are left with trash
Sell stocks that do not perform.
Be wary of stops and selling for gains (unless purposely trading) or you will lose the best..

I thought Jabil would do well selling all those boards and they sold a lot. So I think supplier to majors have a problem in having to settle for puny prices the majors will pay.
Conclusion here is I prefer a company selling to the public. Example Dell.
Or the Telcos, who collect from the public and can now put huge pressure on their suppliers.
Intel and Msft should have no problems with almost a captive market.
What we could use is a concept that will permit us to disregard the noise and bears because it may get even worse than today.
Some can follow Warren Buffett ( if you already own enough money) but he just even with three years ago
except for dividends.
At this moment I am following two men, MSD with Dell, and M. Topfer with Ally.
There should be more out there, but I only need 1 good one.
