Gosh they sure have added some since I was a kid. :-) They point was, that he was implying that ALL companies do that. It's a handful of companies that have stock options compared to the whole. There are probably millions of companies in the U.S. and most of them base their hiring and firing on things that have nothing to do with stock options, they don't even have them.
