The established companies have:

- real products with real revenue
- much broader visibility, even if it is oftentimes inaccurate
- established and tested corporate governance
- large diversification in holders

and are
- not early developmental stage companies
- far less likely to go belly up on average, as compared to BB issues

and
- trade millions of shares a day, allowing the technical trader to participate, in size, or not, and have reasonable opportunities for entry and exit

So there's plenty of difference, and I'm sure our more articulate contributors here can add plenty to this paltry list.

Since your posts always have a long side favor to them, I will add that I wouldn't sell short a thinly traded BB issue either myself since I like safety in numbers - numbers being lots of daily volume.

Although selling them short after a big spike up seems to be a profitable endeavor.
