Solon, why don't you just come out and say it, you can stomach every religion except Christianity
Chris, I am not against religion. I am against irrationality. If people wish to seek God, why make destroying ones brain a prerequisite? I am against the contradictory, the stupid, the vicious, and the heartless in all religions. How could I look in the mirror were I otherwise?
As far as Saul goes, he was most likely a Roman agent acting as a counterbalance to the relentless agenda of Judaism. Of course, if you read the links posted you would understand that the whole history of the time was insignificant as regards any pretended gospel myths. It just didn't happen. Christianity developed in the abstract.
My quoting of scripture is not ranting; It is simply a moving photograph of a belief system. If contradictions, immorality, violence, and senselessness impress you--then I have failed to quote the correct scriptures, I guess.
There is no rational response to religious scripture. They all fall under their own primitive belief structure. If one is to search for God...why not search with the wonder of a child (Hi Frederick!) rather than with a silly preconception of a chosen race and a racist God? Why choose to believe scriptures that are clearly the product of ignorance, hatred, exclusion and division? Why do you need an agenda to propel your footsteps through life? Be kind to others and lend a helping hand when you can. This will give you heaven on earth. And if there is another...you will have earned it as well... |
