Yup. I've been thinking about that today, how so often Dems evade the central issues and instead attack along some strange tangent or attack the person making the arguement.

Look at Bush, instead of discussing his ideas, they make fun of his speech and call him stupid. When conservatives suggest a program filled with bloat be abolished, they say it's because we hate the people who recieve the benefits and want them to die, get sick, or live on the street.

Then they position themselves as the protectors of these people when in fact, largely interested in protecting the $$$ for the program.
