Jerry, I realize I have never posted to you before (my hangout is the Home on the Range thread). You are touching on an issue that I am intensely, and I mean intensely, interested in. Very serious. I'd rather not get into the specifics of my background using this venue (send a PM my way), but I can assure you that this post comes from someone with a bit of experience in journalism. Couple of decades or so. Picked up a few awards along the way, and I don't mean at some two-dog county rag, either. Please feel free to PM me, sir, and I'll do what I can _ review your work, make some contacts, try to help you get published, whatever. Molly Ivans out of Austin had a syndicated piece a few weeks ago that implied, but only implied, what you're saying. But we all know it's true. I would appreciate seeing your version of the story.
