Hi TLC, RE: Scumbria

About a year ago, I happened by a couple of your posts and I found them to be humorous, respectful, and warm. I enjoyed them.

However, I've read your post re: Scumbria and it doesn't appear to resonate with your usual style when you said, "bonehead and a jackass", and that makes me wonder if possibly Scumbria said something that upset you.

If you read my posts, you'll notice that Scumbria and I do not agree on many matters, yet I would not ask him to be banned, even if I were upset.

I believe he has the ability to stand independently, and many times he is able to articulate effectively the other side's perspective. If anything, it has the impact of making me either a) change my opinion or b) be more certain of my opinion after a debate.

In either case, I find myself reflecting on points that he brings up, which I believe has a net effect of keeping my mind open to different view points.

RE: "This thread was created for people who agree with the current administration, in order to discuss things about the current president."

Not according to the Thread's Original Post or Current Rev#35.

Neither state that membership to the Bush Thread is dependent upon agreeing.

Nor did I see anything in either of these, which said that a person had to agree with the members in order to be a member.

If Scumbria was banned for presenting an alternative perspective, may I suggest you do what we do on the INTC thread when he does this? We listen, we debate, we either find the flaws in his thinking, or we change our thinking. Some may have him on ignore, but we don't ban him.

Maybe I missed something he said, but I've never seen a post of his that would warrant a ban.

Happy holiday.

Respectfully,
Amy J
