This statement would be true for a P-III based system but not Athlon/Duron based system. CAS3 PC133 only performs as poorly as CAS2 PC100 if the PC133 DRAM is being run asynchronously (with a 100/200 MHz FSB). And, while I can not explain why, the performance of PC1600 DDR SDRAM is always abominable. Do not go with PC1600 DDR SDRAM in any circumstances, unless you are willing to overclock the DRAM.
