You know better. Intel isn't scrambling to dump $6 billion into new plant in a year when revenues are plummeting and profits may be non-existent just for fun.

Intel needs plant with pods to handle wafers and copper interconnect (like AMD's plant) and they need it ASAP. So they're forced into spending money like it's water, however stupid that may appear to be at this stage of the semi cycle.
