Why upgrade? Microsoft is heavy-handing the solution to that problem. They are clearly moving to an annoying model of "renting" software. They call it their ".NET" program. Windows-XP, successor to Win2000, will require internet validation from Microsoft within 90 days of installation. Upgrade your motherboard or hard disks and you get to buy the operating system again.
