It appears now that there are two aggressive male Blue Birds - the original representing a nest on one side of the house and another on the other. So these guys are just macho with peckulations and still attacking windows. As a matter of fact one of them was seen chasing off a pair of House Finches trying to set up housekeeping under the roof eaves. This is okay with us as the Finches are rather messy occupants and leave droppings and stuff all over the porch.

The latest Blue one has secured a nest for his mate in a hole in another Oak that a very industrious Acorn Woodpecker augured out a few seasons ago. I remember that episode well as for weeks he appeared and hammered for minutes at a time into the tree. I finally went, climbed up and checked it out and was very surprised to discover how much progress the pecker head had made.

Would you believe that, perhaps, the Acorn guy is in the real estate rental business? This morning was rather colorful when an Audubon Warbler showed up with his yellow trims flitting around at ground level. Meanwhile the resident White Crown Sparrows continue their munchings and pickings about the shrubbery. Easter is a great time for bird watching.
