check out IYR as vehicle to short real estate I have yet to investigate much it is the Dow Jones Real Estate Trust Index trades like most sector indexes e.g. BKS banks, BTK biotech, SOX chips, ... dunno about liquidity though I think real estate is due for a good whacking by next winter / jw
