Never saw that movie. You make it sound like it might be worth seeing. Reminds me of A Man in Full by Tom Wolfe, where a working class guy who escapes from prison "saves" a tycoon who is struggling. Dylan was good until he went electric. I think where folk went wrong is when they lost the working people. The musicians started coming from upper class white colleges, and the tunes took on a different tone. Plus, they didn't have much to say. They ceded the ground of working man's ballads to so called country music.
