L-3 Communications Holdings, Inc., including its wholly owned subsidiary L-3
Communications Corp., is a merchant supplier of sophisticated secure communication
systems and specialized communication products. Its customers include the United
States Department of Defense (DoD), certain United States government intelligence
agencies, major aerospace and defense contractors, foreign governments and
commercial customers. The Company has two business segments, Secure
Communication Systems and Specialized Communication Products.

Financial Summary
L-3 Communications is a merchant supplier of secure communication systems and
specialized communication products, including secure, high data rate systems,
microwave components, avionics and ocean systems, and telemetry and space
products. For the fiscal year ended 12/31/00, sales rose 36% to $1.91 billion. Net
income rose 41% to $82.7 million. Results reflect acquisitions, strength in sales of
secure telephone equipment, cost reductions and greater operating efficiencies.
