Dave, Snap Track somehow overcomes the typical time delay GPS normally exhibits. I suspect this is done by using network features to pick a starting point location and then using the GPS feature to refine the location -- thus avoiding much of the iterative calculation in plain GPS. While network location may be of some utility today due to the installed base of phones not having snap track, that advantage will decay rapidly due to churn. At that point, I suspect that Verizon will choose to change over to Snap Track unless it has continued to purchase high volumes of phones using those unfortunately defective NOK ASICS.
