WaveRider's LMS2000 to Deliver High-Speed Wireless Internet Access to Businesses in Tampa, FL
Global Networks, Inc. to Deploy WaveRider's Last Mile Solution® Network in May, 2001
TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 16, 2001-- WaveRider Communications Inc. (Nasdaq:WAVC - news; Frankfurt:WRV.), a leading global provider of fixed wireless Internet access products, today announced the deployment of its LMS2000 wireless system by Global Networks, an affiliate of Global Information Technology, Inc., a leading IT solution provider based in Tampa, Florida.

With the installation of WaveRider's Last Mile Solution® wireless network, Global Networks will deliver high-speed wireless Internet access to business customers in Tampa.
When fully deployed, the LMS2000 will provide data transfer speeds of up to 7.5 megabits per second (Mbps) to Global Network's business customers over the wireless network. The carrier-class LMS2000 network will enable Global Networks to serve hundreds of business customers within its coverage area and to manage its network from a central location. The company expects to launch its wireless service to its initial base of commercial customers in May, 2001.
