E, in Win98 start>programs>accessories>system tools>scheduled tasks

Very interesting......I tried this in my WinME and found all kinds of things to investigate. I have something called "Tune up Application" which runs "walign" once a month. I have "Symantic Net Detect" which runs "NETDECT.EXE" every 5 minutes and "PCHEALTH Scheduler for Data Collection" (windows\pchealth\support\PCHSUD.EXE), which runs every 10 minutes.

I also have run live update for Norton AntiVirus which never runs, yet I get updates on an automatic basis. Not sure, but this may be left over from an earlier version.

I never heard of some of most of these programs but it sure would explain why I do most of my scandisks using a boot disk in dos.

I have to go out for an hour or so but if anyone has any clues as to what some of these are I would appreciate hearing it. Would save me some detecting time.<gg>

Edit: I am running Norton Utilities 2001 and Norton Anti virus 2001.
