| The operation of reason suffices in most spheres of life. As you said, you are a practical person, and therefore must be impressed with the way that reason has permitted us to erect the edifice of civilization, by applying scientific and mathematical knowledge to technology and engineering. On a less exalted plain, we are constantly using our minds to good purpose, although, again, not infallibly so. Therefore, it is no stretch to affirm that "reason works". Epistemology is concerned primarily with why, not if, and is useless, in any case, if nothing is susceptible of objective investigation......... |
