Mike,

Over the weekend, I had the chance to talk to a Nokia Engineer. According to him, Snaptrack was a key move for QCOM. He was very impressed with the Snaptrack technology. Here are a few of his comments:

1) QCOM executes very well but manages to upset many companies in the process.

2) The software glitch was definitely a mistake and they are working on correcting it. A recall might happen.

3) While QCOM is very strong in CDMA, he feels the game is not over.

4) Every day he gets impressed with QCOM as a company.

5) He was also excited about BREW and he was going to go and check it out in the upcoming BREW conference in May.

6) Nokia is working on 1X ASIC.

7) Europe will never go with CDMA2000. Impossible!

8) Vorizon will most likely go with 1X. QCOM has done a great job with building a migration path for their technology.

9) China was really hurting QCOM and he did not think 13M subs was a big deal. GSM is and will continue to dominate China.

10) It is a joke how much the Europeans have paid for spectrum.

11) The hype for 3G is over done.

12) Nokia is worried of MSFT, SUNW, and PC companies getting into wireless business.

13) Nokia is working on a ton of stuff but he did not tell me what. Very loyal guy!

14) Nokia has been and continue to be in negotiations with QCOM.

15) Nokia will never buy QCOM. Period.

16) There will be a big fight coming up no matter how you look at it because there is too much in stake.

17) The game is not over but just starting.

18) If he did not work for Nokia, he would own QCOM stock.
