600-700 million cdma devices annually - per Rich Sulpizio's presentation at the S.G. Cowen COnference (3/28/01).

Marty, you are correct, there is very little understanding nor is their much work being done by analyst regarding the future earnings potential of QCOM.

Your assumptions of the various growth opportunities beyond wireless phone service makes QCOM one of the best investments available to anyone with a time horizon beyond their nose.

During R Sulpizio's presentation he mentioned that today there are 500 million phones sold world wide and 80% of those are GSM. He then said that imagine in a few years when there are 600 to 700 million devices sold each year and they are all cdma. No one picked up on this statement because very few really understand how the numbers can add up so fast or where the services will come from.

If there was ever a great company selling at a low single digit, forward PE ratio, qcom is that company. FWIW
Thanks
