ftth and John c.- Thanks for the explanations. I'm almost grasping it.

BTW I'm still on the VOD system Time Warner has installed in this area. Been about....gee I'm lousy with time frames. I think it's been about six months maybe I've been able to access VOD. BUT the content is still garbage!

I find it very hard to believe it has to do with content availability as Time Warner has a huge movie library. Yet they put on limited junk. I still don't know why.

ftth speculates that it's because the system would crash if more than 20% of customers wanted to watch a movie.

Whatever the problem, it's a real SHAME because I've gone to it many times to save a trip to Blockbuster and have only ordered two movies to date. Yet I've looked about 20 times hoping something would be decent by now.

An MSO can't be so stupid as to not realize this is a gold mine with the proper content. Right? -MikeM(From Florida)

PS BTW Time Warner still reserves 15 or 20 channels just for nVOD (near VOD) which I have always found useless.
