DaiTN, I never made any call one way or another. I do have a problem with any knowitall, regardless of which side of the fence he/she may be on. It amazed me how everything became wonderful in the span of a few days merely because of a hedge fund inspired short-covering rally when nothing in the economic outlook whatesover fundamentally changed.
I personally don't categorize myself as a bull or bear, although I would argue that a positive economic environment with a market moving up and companies hiring instead of laying off is obviously better for everyone. However, I believe in going with the flow and not getting locked in one direction.
AS came out with this rosy picture because the market rallied, made claims about making the bottom, inventories burning up, blah, blah, blah, when nothing really changed and I'm simply calling him on it.
I'll say it again, until the sector leaders start showing IMPROVING results and outlook, it's foolish to get into buy/hold mode on anything IMO. The trend is either no outlook or bleak one at best and there are no signs yet of the trend changing. |
