G,
It would seem to me that some folks would do well to evaluate the current situation rather than crow about how bad co's like cisco were/are. The bubble burst did not have to be this severe if rates hadnt been raised that aggressively last year. In retrospect cisco went to far, no doubt. The stock price reflects that, perhaps a lower price will reflect it even better. However I would think that those of us who rode this out would be foollish to sell stocks lilke cisco now. Because chambers made a serious mistake doesnt mean he is (1) not brilliant and (2) still has hall of fame numbers. Cisco just might become the comeback kid.
On another note, I was not actively in the market during previous recessions. I have been on this board for two years now and what happened to cisco seems to resemble what happened to chip companies in the last downturn.
They seem to have held up better because of their history. Does this seem so to you or is the intel story equally dismal. In any case when you have a severe inventory correction shit happens and I wonder what cisco could have done to avoid this? In a year or so, the comparisons for cisco will be compelling and if we expect amat to be back at 120, cisco should be able to get back to 50. mike

PS and if you dont believe cisco is completely cyclical but half and half, perhaps the old highs within 2 years or so
