speedskier,

I have a follow up question - is this essentially the same crystalline structure as Cree uses in their 2" wafers?

Yes, the difference is that larger crystals are now being grown (hopefully more economically).

Both 4H and 6H are now available in 2" and 3" wafers. It seems that 4H is preferred for high-power radio frequency devices, although I believe that it is possible to make them using 6H as well.
